Today, the first trial of alleged extortion of K3 certificates, Noel Ebenezer sits in the defendant's chair
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower for the period 2024-2025 Immanuel (Noel) Ebenezer Gerungan faces the first trial in a case of alleged extortion in the management of K3 certificates in the Ministry of Manpower environment at the Corruption Crime Court at the Central Jakarta PN, Monday, January 19.
"We will inform you that a number of trials will be held, including a trial with the defendant Noel Ebenezer and his friends with the agenda of indictment. To media colleagues, you are welcome to cover," said Central Jakarta PN spokesperson Andi Saputra, quoted by Antara.
The Chairman of the PN Central Jakarta has appointed a panel of judges who will try the Noel Ebenezer case, namely Nur Sari Baktiana as the presiding judge, with each member judge Fajar Kusuma Aji and Alfis Setiawan.
In addition to former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Noel Ebenezer, there are also 10 other suspects who will be tried in the same trial, namely Temurila, Miki Mahfud, Fahrurozi, Hery Sutanto, Subhan, Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, Irvian Bobby Mahendro Putro, Sekarsari Kartika Putri, Anitasari Kusumawati, and Supriadi.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the extortion carried out by Immanuel Ebenezer together with 10 suspects related to the management of K3 certificates at the Ministry of Manpower reached Rp. 201 billion.
"In the investigation of this case, namely from the identification by investigators through the accounts of the suspects, the alleged extortion carried out reached Rp. 201 billion for the period 2020-2025," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta, Thursday last week.
Budi said this figure did not include cash or in the form of goods, such as cars, motorcycles, facilities for departure for the hajj, umrah, and others.
Previously, on August 22, 2025, the KPK named Immanuel Ebenezer as Deputy Minister of Manpower along with ten other people as suspects in the alleged extortion case related to the management of K3 certificates in the Ministry of Manpower environment.
On the same date, Immanuel Ebenezer hoped to receive amnesty from President Prabowo Subianto, but he was removed from his position as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs by the President.
