Salesforce Introduces Slackbot, an AI Assistant Directly Integrated in Slack
JAKARTA - Salesforce announced the availability of the latest version of Slackbot as a personal AI agent designed to help employees work directly within the Slack platform.
Slackbot is claimed to be a ready-made employee agent that understands the context of each individual's work, team, and how they collaborate.
In the future, Slackbot will also become the main interface for interacting with Agentforce - Salesforce's AI agent - as well as third-party AI agents, allowing users to perform various tasks and organize workflows simply by chatting.
"Slackbot is not just a copilot or AI assistant, it is the gateway to Agentic Enterprise. It brings AI based on your company's data, workflows, and Slack conversations, directly into your workflow," said Salesforce Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, Slack, Parker Harris.
Slackbot is designed to address the main challenges of AI adoption in the workplace, namely the lack of context, fragmented systems, and the risk of AI hallucinations.
Slackbot is claimed to be able to overcome this problem because it is built directly within Slack, without requiring additional settings or training, and still complies with the company's data permission and security systems.
By understanding user conversations, files, channels, and work relationships from the start, Slackbot is said to be able to provide more relevant and accurate responses.
Users simply interact through conversations to complete tasks, summarize information, prepare documents, and plan the next steps.
Slackbot will be available to Business+ and Enterprise+ customers through a phased rollout starting today and continuing throughout January and February.
