KPK Chairman Makes Sure Harun Masiku Is Still Being Hunted Even If There Are Disabled Employees

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed that the search for former PDI-P candidate Harun Masiku is still ongoing. He emphasized that this search would not be disrupted even though there were 75 employees who were disabled because they did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK).

The former Deputy for Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the anti-corruption commission always works with systems, mechanisms, and procedures that comply with the provisions. Moreover, all corruption eradication work is carried out as a team, not individually.

"KPK works with a standard mechanism and procedure system according to the provisions. Every case is carried out by a team that is not one person," Firli said in a written statement, Sunday, May 30.

He also said that this team did not move carelessly but according to the arrangements made by the Director of Investigation.

"The team works according to the provisions and procedures. Success at the KPK is teamwork, not individuals. The Director of Investigation (Investigation, ed) is in charge," he said.

For information, Harun Masiku, who is a suspect in the bribery of former General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, is still unknown. He has been on the run for more than a year since February 2019.

The latest news is that Harun is reportedly in Indonesia. However, the search for this fugitive was hindered because the investigator who followed the trail of Harun's escape was deactivated because he did not pass the TWK.

As previously reported, the KPK has held a coordination meeting to discuss the fate of 75 employees who failed the National Insight Test (TWK) and were disabled. In addition to the KPK and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN), this meeting was also attended by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly and the MenPANRB Tjahjo Kumolo.

Meanwhile, 24 out of 75 employees may still be trained. However, they can also be fired if they do not pass the national education and national defense training.

The National Insight Test (TWK) was attended by 1,351 KPK employees. Of these, 1,274 people were declared eligible.

Meanwhile, 75 employees, including Novel Baswedan, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum who is also investigator Yudi Purnomo, Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaign Giri Suprapdiono, Head of the KPK Task Force Harun Al-Rasyid, and Director of PJKAKI Sujarnarko were declared ineligible (TMS). Next, two other employees did not attend the interview test.
