35 RT and 23 Streets in Jakarta are Submerged by Flooding, Residents Evacuated at RPTRA

JAKARTA - A total of 35 RTs and 23 roads in the DKI Jakarta area were again flooded on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

The flood occurred due to the high intensity of rainfall that hit the Jakarta area since Saturday evening, January 17.

Head of the BPBD DKI Jakarta Information Center, M. Yohan, said that there were 17 RT that were flooded in the West Jakarta area. Today, the highest number of flood puddles is in West Jakarta.

Like in Kedaung Kali Angke Village, there are 8 RT submerged in flood with a height of 45 to 60 cm.

"Flooding also occurred in 4 RT of Rawa Buaya Village with a height of 30 cm and 1 RT in Jelambar Village with a height of 25 cm. The cause is due to high rainfall," said M. Yohan when confirmed.

In Tegal Alur Village, continued Yohan, there were 4 RT that were flooded with a height of 30-40 cm.

"A total of 29 residents of Tegal Alur Village who were affected by the flood were evacuated to the RPTRA Alur Anggrek," he added.

Furthermore, there are 13 RT in Serdang Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta that were also submerged in floodwater. 13 RT in Serdang Village were submerged in water as high as 30 cm.

"In the East Jakarta area, only 2 RT are submerged, namely 1 RT in Cakung Barat Village with a height of 60 cm and another RT in Rawa Terate Village with a height of 40 cm," he said.

Furthermore, in the North Jakarta area, there are 3 RTs that were again hit by floods, namely 1 RT in Ancol Village. In the Ancol Village area, the flood was 25 cm deep and 2 RT in West Pademangan Village was 30 cm deep.

Meanwhile, 23 roads that were flooded due to heavy rain were in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta and West Jakarta, namely:

BPBD DKI Jakarta continues to deploy personnel to monitor the condition of puddles in each area and coordinate the elements of the Water Resources Agency, the Road Construction Agency, the Gulkarmat Agency to carry out the suction of puddles and ensure that the water ropes are functioning.

"We appeal to the public to remain vigilant and vigilant against the potential of flooding," he said.
