The Ministry of Defense Appoints 12 Experts, One of Which is Noe Letto

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense has appointed 12 experts of the National Defense Council, one of which is the son of Emha Ainun Nadjib alias Cak Nun, namely Sabrang Mowo Damar Panuluh or known as Noe, the vocalist of the Letto band.

Karo Infohan Setjen Kemhan Brigjen TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait said that Noe Letto and other experts would be tasked with providing input, studies, and recommendations according to their fields of expertise to support the implementation of the National Defense Council's tasks and functions.

"In its mechanism, experts provide input and recommendations through forums and the National Defense Council's work system according to the applicable structure," said Rico as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, January 18.

Besides Noe Letto, the experts who were inaugurated were also one of them, Frank Alexander Hutapea, the eldest son of lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea.

The point, he said, is that experts who have their own expertise will contribute to strategic thinking across disciplines, from a social, cultural, and strategic communication perspective that is relevant to enriching the National Defense Council's studies.

Later, the contribution of this thinking will be considered by the collective leadership of the council including the Minister of Defense, so that the decision remains within the institutional corridor and the strategic interests of the country's defense.

Rico said that the government ensured that the filling of National Defense Council Experts was fully directed to strengthen the quality of Indonesian defense policies.

"It is not related to family background or other non-institutional factors," he said.
