Flooding Drowned Five RTs and Three Road Sections in Jakarta
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded on Sunday, at 06.00 WIB, flooding submerged five neighborhood units (RT) and three roads in the capital due to high rainfall since Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2026.
Head of the BPBD DKI Jakarta Provincial Disaster Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan, in Jakarta, Sunday morning, said that in North Jakarta, one RT in Ancol Village had a water height of 25 centimeters (cm), while in West Jakarta, three RTs in Kedaung Kali Angke Village with a height of up to 60 cm.
Like in East Jakarta, one RT in Rawa Terate Village was also affected with a water height of around 40 cm.
In addition to settlements, three roads in West Jakarta were also flooded with a height of 20 cm, namely the Green Garden Housing Road in Kedoya Utara, Prince Tubagus Angke Road in Wijaya Kusuma, and Prince Tubagus Angke Raya Road in Jelambar Baru.
Therefore, his party appealed to the public to remain vigilant against the potential for continued flooding.
"If there is an emergency, residents can immediately contact the Jakarta Siaga 112 service, which operates 24 hours a day for free," he said.

The flood also submerged a number of tombs at the Pondok Kelapa Public Cemetery (TPU), Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, due to heavy rain in the area, since Saturday (17/1).
"Due to the excessive rainfall from yesterday afternoon. So, there are several tombs that are flooded, the rest of the top (headstone) is just," said TPU Pondok Kelapa security officer, Muhadi.
Muhadi said that the puddles occurred in several tomb plots located in low-lying areas, especially in the back of the cemetery area.
"The water level is about 30 centimeters since this morning," said Muhadi.
However, the flooding did not last long because the water channels around the location had been cleaned by the Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) TPU Pondok Kelapa.
According to Muhadi, the water gradually receded after the rain subsided and the drain returned to normal function.
"If the water here does not gradually last long, because the water ditches have been cleaned by the PJLP TPU Pondok Kelapa. It is likely that the rain has stopped and the water has receded," explained Muhadi.
Currently, the condition at the Pondok Kelapa TPU has returned to normal and the water puddles are gradually receding.
"For tombs on the plateau, they are not flooded, only in the low parts," said Muhadi.
