Minister Rosan: RI's participation in the WEF Davos strengthens global competitiveness
JAKARTA - Minister of Investment and Industrialization Rosan Roeslani said Indonesia's presence at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, is part of the RI's consistent economic diplomacy strategy at the international level to spur competitiveness.
In his statement in Jakarta, Sunday, Rosan said Indonesia's participation in the WEF Davos 2026 on January 19-22, 2026, involved the Ministry of Investment and Industrialization/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Danantara Indonesia, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
The presence of the institution, continued Rosan, who also serves as the Head of BKPM and CEO of Danantara, is not an incidental step, but rather a continuation of long-term efforts to promote national investment potential and strengthen Indonesia's position as a global strategic partner in the midst of global economic dynamics.
According to him, the WEF forum is an important stage for Indonesia to convey policy directions and national readiness in facing global challenges.
"This WEF is certainly a very good momentum for Indonesia, to convey the national narrative and Indonesia's future plans to the global community, including the new policies and regulations that have been issued, as a message that Indonesia continues to move forward," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, January 18.
In the WEF Davos 2026 which carries the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue", he continued, Indonesia positions itself as a constructive and solutive dialogue partner.
The government reiterates its commitment to offer economic stability, policy certainty, and competitive long-term investment opportunities as the foundation for improving national competitiveness.
In the forum, Indonesia again carried out the Indonesia Incorporated approach through synergy between the government, state asset managers, and the business world.
The presence of the Indonesia Pavilion with the theme of Indonesia Endless Horizons is a platform for integrated investment promotion as well as an affirmation of Indonesia's seriousness in building a narrative of sustainable and inclusive development.
In addition, Indonesia will also hold an Indonesia Night as an informal economic diplomacy space that brings together world leaders, global investors, and international business actors.
Through art and cultural performances, Indonesia asserts its identity as a country with strong cultural wealth as well as a global partner that is open to sustainable and green economy-oriented collaboration.
