Rutan Salemba Simultaneous Fish and Vegetable Harvest, The Results for West Sumatra and Aceh Disaster Assistance

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Class I Detention Center or Salemba Detention Center carried out simultaneous harvest with a number of inmates (WBP) or prisoners.

Head of the Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Tourism and Creative Economy, Heri Azhari, said that the natural harvest was sold and the proceeds would be donated to the Aceh and West Sumatra disaster-affected areas.

"There is another addition from the sale of MSMEs, which totals more than Rp. 15 million," said Heri, Friday, January 16, 2026.

Heri continued that this simultaneous harvest is expected not only to be a ceremonial activity, but also a sustainable work pattern.

"Through measurable work guidance, it is hoped that the residents will have the skills to integrate back into society as productive individuals," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Central Class I Prison, Wahyu Trah Utomo, said this simultaneous harvest was also part of the acceleration program of the Minister of Immigration and Correction in supporting national food security.

The activity was carried out simultaneously and opened by the Minister of Immigration and Corrections, Agus Andrianto.

"The residents of the Jakarta Central Class I Detention Center have now managed to harvest 70 kilograms of black tilapia, 55 kilograms of catfish, and 15 kilograms of red tilapia," said Wahyu.

In addition to fish, a vegetable harvest of 30 kilograms was also carried out. Organic cabbage and caisim vegetables harvested reached 30 kilograms.

According to Wahyu, the results of this harvest are partly processed into ready-to-cook yellow spice fish which are then marketed to the general public.

"This independence program for inmates of the Jakarta Central Class I Prison is hoped to add new experiences and skills in planting and cultivating fish that can be used when they are free to return to society," he said.

This harvest was carried out at the assimilation and education facility of the Jakarta Central Class I Detention Center. The activity was also attended by the Head of the Jakarta Central Directorate of the Indonesian National Police, Heri Azhari, as well as all heads of the Jakarta Central Directorate of the Indonesian National Police and the Jakarta Central KPKP Sub-Director.

This activity is a symbol of the success of the empowerment of the residents in the midst of limited land.
