DPR: Adding TNI-Polri Personnel Do Not Reduce Hajj Officer Quota
Member of Commission VIII of the DPR Dini Rahmania asked that the addition of personnel from the TNI and Polri elements to strengthen the protection of pilgrims, should not reduce the quota for Hajj officers.
He said the quota for Hajj officers had been regulated in the regulation on the implementation of the Hajj. For this reason, he said, the main duties and functions of the TNI-Polri as protectors of the congregation must still be distinguished from the duties of Hajj service.
"So that the placement needs to be in a separate scheme and does not erode the allocation of Hajj officers," said Dini, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 16.
However, he also welcomed the steps of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah which prepared additional personnel from the TNI and Polri elements. With the great operational challenges and the very dynamic service conditions in the Holy Land, according to him, the protection aspect needs to be strengthened.
Dini also admitted that it was not a problem if the number of additions doubled, as long as the assignment was clearly as a protector of the congregation and strengthening of security.
Dini said all of these policies must come down to one thing, namely ensuring that the protection of the congregation is carried out to the maximum.
"Strengthening the TNI element is not a problem as long as the quota for Hajj officers is maintained and the function of protecting the congregation is really optimized," he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that the number of Hajj officers from the TNI and Polri elements would be increased.
Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak conveyed that the addition was a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto.
"Yes, it is indeed from the TNI-Polri every year. That is, it is called Linjam (protection of the congregation), security officers. It is from the TNI-Polri as well as the President's order, we will add," said Dahnil at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday (4/12/2025).
