JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK is trying to accelerate the completion of 45 temporary housing (huntara) in East Aceh Regency, Aceh. This step is a continuation of the collaboration of BUMN Karya under the coordination of Danantara, which targets the provision of fast but habitable huntara.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Mardiansyah said that the construction of the huntara by the company was centered in two strategic locations, namely in Arakundo Village, Simpang Ulim District, and Seumatang Village, Julok Ulim District.

For the first point, HK will prepare 35 housing units on an area of 960 square meters. Meanwhile, at the second point, at least 10 huntara units will be built on an area of 495 square meters.

"As of January 15, the construction progress of the huntara in these two villages has reached 97 percent. Our focus remains on the quality of the building and work safety, so that these residences are really safe when occupied by residents later," said Mardiansyah quoted from a written statement, Friday, January 16.

The huntara was designed not only as a shelter, but was equipped with adequate public facilities. Starting from toilets, prayer rooms and communal kitchens, so that social activities and daily life of residents can gradually recover.
