Take A Peek At The Wealth Of Roman Abramovich, Bohir Chelsea Who Won The Champions League

JAKARTA – A few hours before this news was revealed, English football club Chelsea Football Club, had just established itself as the ruler of Europe by winning the 2020-2021 Champions League by beating Manchester City 1-0.

This achievement repeats the glory days of the Blues, nicknamed Chelsea, when it was inhabited by the golden generation of John Terry cs in 2012. Indeed, the achievements inscribed by the London club cannot be separated from the figure of Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich aka Roman Abramovich.

The reason is, the Russian tycoon has succeeded in making Chelsea a team that is respected not only in mainland Great Britain, but also throughout Europe. The Champions League trophy is the ultimate proof.

Launching information from Wikipedia, Abramovich acquired Chelsea in July 2003 with an estimated purchase value of £140 million, or around Rp. 2.6 trillion. Since then, he has turned Chelsea into a strong team with a sprinkling of star players with exorbitant prices, such as Andriy Shevchenko, Fernando Torres, to Michael Essien.

In a report stated that Abramovich has invested no less than 440 million pounds in Chelsea in just three years since his arrival to the club based at Stamford Bridge. This value is believed to have grown many times due to the number of investments he has made up to now.

So, how much wealth does the Chelsea boss really have to the point of being willing to spend hundreds of millions of pounds just for the pleasure of soccer being contested by 22 people?

Based on Bloomberg Billionaires Index data quoted on Sunday, May 30, 2021, it was stated that Abramovich was the 105th richest person in the world.

He is estimated to have a total assets of 18.9 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 270.3 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,306). This value is known to have increased by 445 million US dollars in just five months since the closing of the December 2020 book.

“Abramovich is the largest shareholder of Evraz, Russia's second largest steelmaker. He has stakes in Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of refined nickel, and Chelsea Football Club in London. He built his fortune from dividends and the sale of privatized assets acquired from the former Soviet Union, including Sibneft and Aeroflot," Bloomberg said in its report.

And last night, the global conglomerate has just increased its financial coffers by 23 million US dollars or around Rp. 329 billion thanks to Chelsea's victory in the European Champions League Final.

Presumably, the idiom that money cannot buy achievement has been broken by Abramovich. Not just once, but twice. Things that have not been realized by rival clubs in the city of Manchester and Paris.
