Ben Affleck Doesn't Want His Kids to Be Actors, Here's Why

JAKARTA - Ben Affleck is one of the Hollywood actors who has successfully ventured behind the scenes. Even so, he hopes that his three children will not follow in his footsteps as an actor.

Ben Affleck has three children from his previous marriage to actress Jennifer Garner, namely Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. He has his own reasons for not wanting his children to become actors like him.

"You put something aside for your kids when you have a public life and it's complicated," Ben Affleck said, launching E! News.

"We really want to give them the space to determine what they want," he said.

For that reason, the 53-year-old actor does not encourage his children to act and he knows they won't.

"I don't encourage them to do that. They are brilliant, loving, and we love them and are proud of them, and wish they didn't waste their lives on acting," he said.

"In some ways, it's a blessing to be anonymous, to fight, in the place we started in the middle of nowhere," the former husband of Jennifer Lopez said.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner married in 2005 and separated in 2015 until they officially divorced in 2018. Ben Affleck then married Jennifer Lopez in 2022 and separated in 2024.
