LPH KKP Officially Operates, Halal Certification of Marine Products is Accelerated
JAKARTA - The Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) officially operates to encourage the acceleration of halal certification of marine and fishery products.
The institution is projected to be a catalyst for accelerating halal certification for more than 76,000 units of marine and fishery product processors throughout Indonesia.
Acting Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDS) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Machmud emphasized that the LPH under the Marine and Fishery Product Implementation Testing Center (BBP3KP) is present as a strategic partner for all business actors, ranging from MSMEs to large industries.
"The LPH we have to support national economic growth and regulatory compliance," said Machmud, quoting Antara.
He added that LPH BBP3KP will continue to expand the reach of services, increase the number and capacity of halal auditors, and strengthen synergies with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), local governments, and various other stakeholders.
This step is expected to accelerate national halal certification and strengthen the Indonesian halal industry ecosystem.
"Halal certification is an important part of product quality assurance and also increases competitiveness in the domestic and global markets," he said.
Head of BBP3KP Rahmadi Sunoko said that the LPH in his agency has a strategic role in ensuring that the process of examining and testing the halal status of products is carried out professionally, credibly, and in accordance with legal regulations.
LPH BBP3KP is supported by competent halal auditors, accredited laboratories, and long experience in testing the quality and safety of fishery products.
"This makes LPH BBP3KP have an advantage in understanding the characteristics of raw materials, production processes, and potential critical points for the halalness of marine and fishery products," said Rahmadi.
He emphasized his agency's commitment to provide accurate, transparent, and timely services, as well as to be a coaching partner for business actors, especially MSMEs, in the implementation of the Halal Product Guarantee System (SJPH).
On January 7, 2026, KKP and BPJPH signed a cooperation document which marked the issuance of the BBP3KP LPH Accreditation Certificate.
Head of BPJPH Ahmad Haikal Hasan said this multi-party collaboration is an important foundation in strengthening the implementation of national halal product assurance.
