ASN in Indramayu Becomes Suspect of Corruption in PKBM Aid of Rp1.4 Billion
JAKARTA - The Indramayu District Attorney's Office (Kejari), West Java, has named an active state civil servant (ASN) with the initials HH as a suspect in an alleged corruption case in the management of the Indramayu Regency Community Learning Center (PKBM) assistance in the 2023 fiscal year.
"The determination of the suspect was made based on the Letter of Determination of the Suspect Number TAP-01/M.2.21/Fd.2/01/2026," said Head of the Indramayu District Attorney's Office Muhammad Fadlan, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 15.
He explained that the determination was made after the investigation team found at least two valid evidence from the investigation stage to the investigation.
"The suspect was determined because the evidence had been met and the actions taken met the elements of corruption," he said.
According to him, HH is an active ASN at the Indramayu Regency Education and Culture Office who in 2023 was given the authority as an operator team for the Nonformal Education (PNF) field, as well as a verification and validation team for PKBM assistance.
In its implementation, he said, the suspect was judged not to have carried out the verification and validation tasks factually and not to be responsible for the proposed data.
He said the suspect did not sort or delete data that did not meet the requirements in the Education Core Data (Dapodik) system, and did not report the condition to the head of the service.
As a result, he said, a number of PKBM were still proposed as recipients of assistance even though they did not carry out learning activities as they should.
He revealed that in this case, fictitious data was found, including students who did not meet the requirements, but were still included in the proposed assistance to the relevant ministries.
He explained that out of the dozens of PKBM that were recorded, some of them were known to receive assistance even though they did not carry out the learning process.
"Logically, if there are residents who study, the process of teaching and learning must run. The fact in the field, there is no activity," he said.
The actions of the suspect resulted in a loss of state funds of around IDR 1.4 billion.
However, Fadlan added that the state's financial losses had been fully recovered during the investigation process.
The Kejari Indramayu investigator, he continued, had received a direct return of Rp568,330,000, as well as a return to the Indramayu Regency General Fund Account of Rp876,091,750.
He said that for his actions, the suspect HH was suspected of violating the provisions of the Law on Eradication of Corruption Crimes as well as the criminal provisions in the applicable Criminal Code.
"Currently, the suspect has been detained at the Indramayu Class IIB Penitentiary for the next 20 days," he said.
