Janice Tjen Advances to Hobart International 2026 Final
JAKARTA - Indonesian women's tennis player Janice Tjen has made it to the final of the women's doubles event at the 2026 WTA 250 Hobart International in Australia.
Janice, who was paired with Polish tennis player Katarzyna Piter, fought to secure a ticket in the two-set match 7-5 and 6-3 against third seeds Eri Hozumi/Fang Hsien Wu (Japan-China Taipei) on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The pair of Janice/Piter managed to make two aces in the clash, compared to zero for their opponents. They also managed to convert four of the five break points they got.
Janice/Piter lost the service in the first game of the first set and then did not get any points at all in the second game. They then managed to cut the score when they got a chance to serve in the third game.
The Eri/Fang pair widened the point gap in the fourth game, but Janice/Piter managed to get closer again. The opportunity to equalize the score was finally obtained by Janice/Piter when their opponents lost the serve in the 10th game.
Janice/Piter who then got three break points after that managed to convert them all into points to secure the first set.
In the second set, Janice/Piter managed to steal the first game, but then lost the second game so the score was tied. The two pairs played hard to reach a score of 2-2.
Janice/Piter then managed to win the fifth game when serving and managed to convert the only break point in the sixth game to get away. Their position was finally not chased anymore.
In the final round, Janice/Piter will face the winner of the duel between Magali Kempen/Anna Siskova from Belgium-Czech Republic against Miriam Kolodziejova/Jesika Maleckova, who are both from the Czech Republic.
