Construction of Temporary Housing in Kayu Pasak Agam Reaches 85 Percent
JAKARTA - The construction of temporary housing (huntara) on the football field of SDN 05 Kayu Pasak, Nagari or Salareh Aia Village, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra has reached 85 percent. The huntara will be inaugurated on January 20.
Deputy Regent of Agam Muhammad Iqbal said the progress of the temporary housing construction at the football field of SDN 05 Kayu Pasak, Nagari Salareh Aia, Palembayan District, has reached 85 percent.
"Temporary housing work is carried out by the TNI, BNPB, BPBD Agam, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 15.
He said the construction of temporary housing on the football field of SDN 05 Kayu Pasak was targeted to be completed by January 20, 2026.
With this condition, 117 temporary housing units and 24 barracks for flood victims were inaugurated on January 20, 2026.
"The construction of temporary housing is almost complete and hopefully it will be completed according to the target that has been determined," he said.
He said that temporary housing was built in Palembayan District with three points, Tanjung Raya two points, Palupuh, Malalak and others.
But the construction of the temporary housing is still in the process of construction.
However, the construction of temporary housing at several points is targeted to be completed before Ramadan.
"All affected residents can carry out fasting in temporary housing," he said.
Temporary housing is intended for residents whose houses were severely damaged by flash floods and landslides in Palembayan, Tanjung Raya, Malalak, Palupuh and others.
Based on local BPBD data, flash floods, floods, landslides, and others hit Agam Regency in late November 2025, resulting in 165 people dead, 37 people missing, 2,619 houses damaged, 27 places of worship damaged, and 121 educational facilities damaged and others.
