Exclusive Cindy Nirmala Loves Music but Likes Horror Acting

JAKARTA - At first glance, Cindy Nirmala's name is still relatively unfamiliar with some of her films, but in fact she has been in the entertainment world for 10 years. Year after year passed, she began starring in a number of films that became her main focus today.

His latest film is Sengkolo: Petaka Satu Suro directed by Deni Saputra. This film is also played by Aulia Sarah, Agla Artalidia, Sharon Jovian, Dimas Aditya, Diaz Ardiawan, Miqdad Addausy, and many others.

"I play the role of Ratih. Ratih is Rahayu's (played by Aulia Sarah's sister) younger sister. For the character, honestly, I'm a little confused when asked about the character because Ratih in this Sengkolo film is divided into two. There is a transformation from Ratih who is still a teenager who is unstable, and Ratih who has changed a little to be more mature," said Cindy Nirmala at the VOI office, some time ago.

Sengkolo means bad luck that comes in waves and that is the main focus of this film. As a supporting actor, the actress born on January 23 said this horror film has a more dramatic story.

For the past four years, Cindy Nirmala has been acting in horror films. According to him, besides being interesting, this genre is also the most offered to him.

"The story was first according to me. I really liked it when I was given the script. Sengkolo means that there is a continuous or continuous misfortune. And that has its reasons. From this film it is told that when we make a wrong decision in the sense that we try to "challenge" God, it is definitely a risk," he explained.

"The horror is not just horror, honestly the drama is heavier than the horror for me. This is not that I want to match it, but at that time the weather was not good," said Cindy again.

Furthermore, Cindy revealed that the scenes in the horror film gave her the opportunity to deploy the emotions she had. He also felt that the layers in the scenes were certainly more varied than playing as an ordinary human being.

"According to me, playing a role in a horror film, especially one that has a scene of possession or becoming a creature other than a human, is the most difficult role. We have to explore everything: emotions, feelings, facial gestures, expressions, to body shape. The layers are much more," said the 28-year-old actress.

"The fun is, sometimes we are given the opportunity by the director to "make" ourselves, for example, strange movements or strange sounds. Because no one has ever seen a real demon, so we use our own imagination. That's what makes it exciting! "he said.

More than 5 horror films played, Cindy Nirmala has her own opinion about good horror films. Horror films are actually also successful in being loved by the Indonesian people.

"I really like it when horror films raise local myths or cultures (local wisdom). So the audience can not only get a jump scare, but also get new information or lessons about myths that may really exist in the past," said Cindy.

Behind his love of playing horror, Cindy Nirmala has a hobby of singing and dancing. He poured it into various uploads on social media, and was realized in the musical film he played. Although he is now playing more horror films, he does not deny his desire to show off his abilities in a wide range.

"Ah, singing and dancing! I really want to get a movie, whatever, I want a musical like La La Land or A Star Is Born. Basically, the singing and narration are more," he said enthusiastically.

"I've seen a musical horror movie called Sinners, but I think it's kind of funny. I want it to be more serious. Or maybe horror like Midsommar but made with more singing elements, I'll really like it," said Cindy Nirmala ending the afternoon's discussion.
