Ammar Zoni Searches Investigators at the Trial, Claims to See Electric Shock Device and Requests CCTV to be Opened
JAKARTA - The tension of the trial of the alleged drug trafficking case that ensnared Ammar Zoni at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) has again increased.
The 32-year-old actor publicly attacked the testimony of the police witness, Mario, who was presented by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
Ammar Zoni with a firm tone claimed to have evidence that officers carried stun guns during the arrest and examination process. This is in contrast to the testimony of witnesses under oath.
"Brother, you said you were sworn in, you said you didn't bring a setrum, in fact, you brought a setrum there. At the time of the video, you brought a setrum. There is evidence there," said Ammar Zoni in the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, January 15.
Not only about the stun gun, the lover of Doctor Kamelia also revealed the alleged physical abuse carried out by another investigator. Ammar mentioned the initials and physical characteristics of the person in question.
"Situ (Mario's witness) didn't abuse, but Mr. Y abused. Mr. Y is the same as the bald-headed one who is a little tall," said Ammar bluntly.
Responding to the serious allegations, Mario remained firm. He denied the practice of violence and the use of electric shock devices during the legal process against Aditya Zoni's brother.
"Yes, I am honest, I believe there is no persecution. There is no Mother (stun gun). Ready there is none," said Mario in defense.
Feeling that the truth was being covered up, Ammar Zoni immediately asked the panel of judges to act fairly by examining the surveillance camera (CCTV) footage at the scene and the detention center. He believes that the footage will be the key evidence for the claim of intimidation he has experienced.
"Later I ask you to open the CCTV, Your Honor. Does the defendant feel he was wronged? That's why we'll ask for CCTV. Because all of that, Brother, you just said it was sworn in," Ammar asked the judge.
Ammar feels that many facts in the field are obscured by investigators in this trial. He hopes that the presence of CCTV footage can uncover what is really happening behind the scenes of the investigation process.
"That's why we will ask for the CCTV to be presented by Your Majesty," he concluded.
