Indonesia Brings Home 4 Medals from the 2026 MMA Championship in China

JAKARTA - Indonesia managed to bring home four medals, consisting of one gold and three bronze, from the 3rd AMMA Championship 2026 which took place in Luzhou, China.

The only gold medal was brought home by Delvi Nurfadillah. He managed to climb to the highest podium after being the best in the traditional MMA 49 kilogram women's event.

"For me, the key to victory is calmness, the reflex of training results, and the ability to make quick decisions in critical moments," said Delvi.

He was also named the Most Outstanding Athlete Award by AMMA thanks to his dominant performance, mature technique, and consistency throughout the championship.

Meanwhile, three bronze medals for Indonesia were secured by Vallensia Fahira Hotmauli (modern MMA 54 kg women), Maydelse Sitepu (modern MMA 60 kg women), and Dwi Ani Retno Wulan (traditional MMA 54 kg women).

The General Chairman of the Indonesian Mixed Martial Arts Association (Pertacami) and President of GAMMA, Tommy Paulus Hermawan, said that this achievement shows that Indonesian athletes can compete at a higher level.

"This is also an opportunity to maintain consistency in performance, improve technical readiness, and strengthen the mental preparation of athletes ahead of the series of major events," he said.

The results obtained in Luzhou will be an important foothold for the 2026 Asian Games qualification which will take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, on September 19 to October 4.

In addition, Indonesia will also prepare for several other events, such as the 2nd AMMA Youth Championship (April) and the 2nd Qualifier Asian Games and Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games (June).
