Denny Sumargo and Collaboration for the Distribution of Logistics for Residents Affected by the Sumatra Flood

JAKARTA - The flash floods that have hit a number of areas in Sumatra in recent times have left a serious impact on the community. Not a few residents have to face limitations on basic needs such as food, clothing, medicine, and electricity supply in the midst of the post-disaster recovery process.

The distribution of appropriate and sustainable assistance is one of the important factors to support recovery efforts in affected areas. Efforts to meet the needs of flood-affected communities in Sumatra also involve collaboration between various parties, including Lion Parcel with public figure Denny Sumargo, Cakra Abhipraya Responsive Humanitarian House, Donasi Barang, and Plan Indonesia.

Through this cooperation, more than 10 tons of logistical assistance have been distributed to the affected areas, and the distribution of assistance will still be carried out gradually according to the needs on the ground.

The collected assistance includes wearable clothes, basic necessities, medicines, blankets, special needs for women, worship equipment, animal food, and even electric generators. All the assistance has been distributed to several affected areas, including Agam Regency in West Sumatra and Aceh Tamiang in Aceh.

"We are committed to being present and helping the community, especially in difficult times after disasters. Working with trusted partners, we hope that this aid delivery can provide real benefits to affected communities and support post-disaster handling in Sumatra. In the future, distribution of aid will continue to be carried out gradually in line with the needs in the field and the donation collection process which is still ongoing," said Kenny Kwanto, Chief Marketing Officer of Lion Parcel, in a press statement to VOI.

In the distribution process, the operational network spread across various regions is used to support the smooth distribution of assistance to affected locations. This approach helps ensure that assistance can arrive and be used according to the needs of the community in the disaster area.

"Collaboration is the key to supporting post-disaster handling in Sumaetra. I appreciate the collaboration with Lion Parcel which has supported the distribution of assistance for affected people. Hopefully, the assistance distributed can help meet the needs of the community and relieve their burden in the midst of the recovery process," said Denny Sumargo, supported by the Cakra Abhipraya Responsive Humanitarian House.

Founder & CEO of Donasi Barang, Ade Rahmat, also expressed his appreciation for the logistical support provided in the process of distributing assistance. According to him, the large volume of assistance and from various regions, including Jakarta, requires reliable distribution support so that it can be distributed properly.

"We are very grateful for Lion Parcel's support which helps the smooth distribution of donations so that assistance can be distributed more effectively to affected communities," said Ade Rahmat.

Meanwhile, Plan Indonesia highlighted the importance of cross-sectoral synergy in ensuring that post-disaster assistance can reach the target groups of people in need.

"Cross-sector collaboration plays an important role in ensuring that assistance can reach affected communities in a targeted manner. We appreciate this support which helps the Plan Indonesia team in distributing assistance more effectively," said Dini Widiastuti, Executive Director of the Plan International Indonesia Foundation.

In the future, the space for collaboration between various parties is considered to remain important, not only in emergency conditions, but also in various other sustainable social efforts.
