White Egg Breakfast for 2 Weeks, Here's the Impact on the Body

JAKARTA - Breakfast is often referred to as the most important meal of the day. However, the choice of breakfast menu is often debated, especially for those who are on a diet.

One option that is quite popular is egg whites, because it is known to be high in protein and low in calories.

Egg whites are low in calories, fat, and cholesterol, and rich in protein. According to dietitian Karen Ansel, R.D.N., egg whites have about 3.5 grams of high-quality protein per egg and are a good food to control appetite and support muscle formation.

"With as much as three and a half grams of high-quality protein per egg, egg whites are a prime food for appetite control and muscle building," Ansel said, quoted from the Women's Health website.

But after two weeks of living this new habit, what are the changes experienced?

1. Fullness Longer than Expected

Initially he was worried that a white egg breakfast alone was not enough to fill him until noon. It turns out, two to three eggs are enough to make the stomach feel full until lunchtime.

"There was no sound of a rumbling stomach at 10 a.m. during this experiment," he said.

He added that vegetables such as spinach or scallions and a portion of fruit so that the variety of flavors remains.

2. Energy for Sports Becomes More Stable

Before exercising in the morning, the body needs a light intake that does not make the stomach feel full and this is where the egg whites work well. According to him, two boiled egg whites are the ideal fuel for morning runs or gym sessions.

"Energy feels more stable without feeling suddenly weak like after eating bananas or bread," he said.

There is no bloating or feeling of heaviness in the stomach that often appears after a heavy breakfast.

3. Eating White Eggs Is Boring

Although useful, egg whites are easy to get bored with. Although it seems to be combined with anything, he finds that his appetite quickly becomes saturated. He tried the 'oatmeal without oats' recipe, egg whites mixed with bananas, milk, and cinnamon. The result was not satisfactory.

"It feels like a mixture of beaten egg whites and bananas," he said.

"The texture of the egg white omelet is also often too chewy, like plastic," he added.

4. Craving for Yellow Eggs

For two weeks, he really missed the yolk. Not only about taste, the yolk also contains important nutrients that are not in the white.

Ansel explained that almost all of the nutrients in eggs, including vitamins B, E, D, iron, zinc, and choline, are contained in the yolk.

"Egg yolks provide almost all essential nutrients, such as vitamins B, E, vitamin D, iron, zinc, and choline," explained Ansel.

In addition, healthy fats in egg yolks help keep you full for longer.

5. Many Eggs are Wasted

Because it uses whole eggs and separates the whites itself, many egg yolks are eventually wasted, even though they have been tried to be used in other recipes.

"I feel a little guilty for throwing away a lot of yolks. Next time I will buy packaged egg whites so that I don't waste a lot." he explained.
