Baru Situbondo Police Chief Promises to Reveal the Murder of a Family

JAKARTA - Situbondo Police Chief AKBP Bayu Anuwar Sidiqie promised to solve and uncover the case of the murder of a family with three victims, which occurred on December 28, 2025.

"Especially the prominent case that became 'PR' is the murder of a family in Besuki District, later we will try to solve it with in-depth investigations," said Bayu Police Chief, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 14.

For information, the three murder victims, namely Muhammad Hasim (58) and his wife, Suningsih (38), and his daughter, Umi Rahmania (18). They were found dead inside their house in Watuketu Village, Demung Village, Besuki District, around 07.00 WIB.

To uncover the case of the alleged murder of a family, he asked for support from all elements of society, including the press, if they received the latest information related to the case.

"We ask for the help of media colleagues and the public to provide input, and if there is any new information, please let us know," he said.

Information collected by ANTARA, until now, the ranks of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Situbondo Police, East Java, have asked for information from 15 witnesses to uncover the case of the alleged murder of a family.

From the results of the autopsy from the RSUD dr. Abdoer Rahem Situbondo, the three victims died due to respiratory failure and loss of a lot of blood, and the supply of oxygen to the brain was interrupted.

The bodies of the victims, Suningsih and her daughter, Umi Rahmania, were found inside the room, while the body of Muhammad Hasim was found between the bathroom and the kitchen of his house.

At the scene, in addition to securing a knife that was in the bathroom, the police also secured five mobile phones.

The Situbondo Police are also still waiting for the results of the crime scene investigation (TKP) conducted by the Indonesian Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) Identification Team as well as the results from the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) of the East Java Regional Police some time ago.
