ASN of the Road Construction Service Involved in Illegal Logging of Trees in Kebayoran Lama
JAKARTA - State civil servants (ASN) are suspected of being involved in an illegal logging case of a tree on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
The Kebayoran Lama Sub-district Head, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, said that the accusation was still tentative.
"Yes, this is still suspected. It (the officer) is from the Department of Road Construction, ASN who serves in the District (Kebayoran Lama). But from earlier we contacted (for clarification) it was not raised," said Mustofa Thohir.
Mustofa confirmed that there was logging of trees belonging to the DKI Provincial Government without permission through a video that was circulating.
He said that the alleged perpetrator of the logging was an official from the Road Construction Service who was on duty in the sub-district area.
He explained that, in terms of duties and functions, the Bina Marga officer does have the authority to carry out tree pruning. However, he said, this authority must be accompanied by official permission and must not be done carelessly.
"Yes, he can cut, cut. But it has to have a permit, not just play as long as you cut," he said.
He suspected that the person received a reward in the practice of cutting down trees because there were other parties who asked for trees to be cut down.
"There are other parties (who ask), order to be cut, then there is it (compensation). But for what needs, I don't know," he said.
Now, his party has reported the findings of illegal logging to the South Jakarta City Forestry and Parks Directorate to be followed up.
"We have reported to the Head of the Forestry Service (about cutting down trees)," he said.
Previously, the South Jakarta City Forestry and Parks Bureau was ready to report alleged illegal logging of trees on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda, specifically in front of the Xpeng car showroom, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.
The logging was carried out without permission from the relevant service, after it was confirmed through licensing checks, both to the City's Parks and Forests Service and to the Head of the Local Implementation Unit (Kasatpel) and the result was that the logging did not have official permission.
