West Java Prosecutor Receives SPDP for Hate Speech Resbob Case

BANDUNG - The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) received a Notification of the Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) regarding the case of alleged racist hate speech against the Sunda tribe with the suspect Muhammad Adimas Firdaus alias Resbob.

Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasipenkum) of the West Java Prosecutor's Office, Nur Sricahyawijaya, said the SPDP was handed over by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the West Java Police on December 14.

"We, the West Java High Prosecutor's Office, have received a SPDP from the West Java Police investigators on behalf of the suspect MAF alias Resbob on December 14, 2025," said Cahya as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 14.

Cahya said in the SPDP, the suspect was charged with Article 243 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP) with a maximum penalty of four years in prison.

The West Java Prosecutor's Office has appointed six investigators to handle the case. Currently, the prosecutors are still studying the case file that has been submitted by investigators.

"The public prosecutor has appointed six investigating prosecutors. The case file was sent by the investigator on January 6, 2026 and is currently still in the research phase," he said.

Cahya said that after the investigation process, the case would be immediately referred to the court for trial.

Previously, the West Java Police named Muhammad Adimas Firdaus alias Resbob as a suspect in the case of alleged hate speech, one of which was against the Sunda tribe.

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said the determination of the suspect was made after investigators had enough evidence, including witness and expert testimony.

"With sufficient evidence, witness statements, and expert statements, we officially designate the person concerned as a suspect," said Rudi.
