Gibran Returns to Jakarta After Canceling a Visit to Yahukimo for Security Reasons

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and his limited entourage arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, at around 14.40 WIB, after traveling by air for about 4.5 hours.

Amrin explained that based on intelligence considerations, his party saw movements from irresponsible groups. "From our intelligence considerations, we see movements from irresponsible groups there that according to our considerations for VVIP security are certainly not possible," said Amrin. On the other hand, Gibran is very eager to visit Yahukimo because the local community is already waiting for his arrival. For security reasons, Vice President Gibran will also reschedule his working visit to Yahukimo. "We suggest rescheduling, because the people of Yahukimo certainly want to meet with Mr. Vice President," said Amrin. The Vice President's visit to Yahukimo was supposed to be the last district after his series of agendas in Tanah Papua. Previously, the Vice President visited the 41 High School of the People (SRMA) and the Fish Market in Biak Numfor on Tuesday (13/1). Still on the same day, the Vice President departed for Wamena to play soccer with children. On Wednesday, the Vice President visited the traditional market of Potikelek and the implementation of MBG at Wamena High School.
