Allegations Of Weakening The KPK Through TWK, Ali Mochtar Ngabalin: It Misleads The Public

JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) has criticized allegations from those who think there is an attempt to weaken the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) through the implementation of a national insight test (TWK) for employees of the agency to become the State Civil Service (ASN). "I want to say that it is an accusation that really misleads the public," said KSP Main Expert Staff Ali Mochtar Ngabalin in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Saturday, May 29. This includes accusations of intervention or attempts to dispose of certain parties. Ngabalin said that the KPK had carried out the correct mechanism in the TWK of changing the status of employees to ASN, referring to the new KPK law so that intervention in the anti-corruption agency related to the KPK employee tests could be dismissed." No one can intervene, look at Law No. 19 of 2019 concerning the KPK," he said.

In article 3 of the law, it is explained that the KPK as a high state institution in carrying out its duties, functions and authorities cannot be intervened by anyone. Therefore, he asked parties who did not pass the TWK not to blame anyone. In other words, if the assessment mechanism is carried out and then the results do not pass, then there is no need to blame other elements or parties. Previously, KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata said as many as 51 KPK employees who did not pass the TWK had red report cards and could not be trained. Meanwhile, 24 employees who do not pass the TWK will be given training related to national insight.
