Good News for Part-Time PPPK Teachers, Honor in Karawang Increases Almost 2 Times

KARAWANG - Karawang Regent Aep Syaepuloh decided to increase the honorarium for teachers with the status of government employees with a work agreement (PPPK) part-time as part of efforts to improve the welfare of educators in the area.

"Bismillah, God willing, the honorarium of part-time PPPK teachers this year will increase," said Aep in Karawang, Antara, Wednesday, January 14.

Aep said that the policy was a manifestation of the commitment of the Karawang Regency Government in strengthening the education sector through improving the welfare of teachers, especially those who have been working on a part-time scheme.

Previously, the honorarium of PPPK teachers part-time in Karawang was IDR 800,000 per month.

After a discussion with the Karawang Education and Culture Office, the local government decided to increase the amount of honor to Rp1.5 million per month starting this year.

"This is a real step by the local government in responding to the aspirations of teachers who have long been conveyed," said Aep.

According to him, the increase in honor is in line with the vision of the Karawang Regency Government in improving the quality of education. Teacher welfare is considered an important foundation in producing superior generations in the future.

Aep added that the policy was carried out gradually by considering the financial capacity of the region. He hopes that the fiscal condition of Karawang Regency in the future will improve so that more priority programs can be realized.

Part-time PPPK teachers are non-ASN teachers who are appointed based on a work agreement with more flexible working hours and wages adjusted to the budget. This scheme is a solution for arranging honorers who did not pass the full-time PPPK selection, so that they still have an employee ID number (NIP), even though they have different salaries and allowances from full-time PPPK.
