Minister of PKP Reveals Meikarta Will Be One of the Subsidized Apartment Locations

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) stated that Meikarta will be one of the locations for subsidized apartment houses (rusun).

"Yes, we discussed it earlier, I just asked for data from Perumnas, from private developers, to have locations in urban areas anywhere. One of them is in Meikarta," said Ara as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 13.

The Minister of Housing will invite subsidized housing developers and related stakeholders to discuss subsidized housing on Wednesday, January 14, 2025.

"On Wednesday night I invited him again to the office (the Ministry of PKP) at nine o'clock at night. We'll see how ready he is. We'll see how ready he is, but one of them is in Meikarta," he said.

For information, the Ministry of Housing and Settlements (Kemen PKP) revealed that subsidized apartments in urban areas will have two concepts, namely simple owned apartments (rusunami) and rental apartments (rusunawa).

Director General of Urban Housing of the Ministry of PKP Sri Haryati said, regarding the two concepts, continued Sri, the PKP Ministry will discuss it with developers, developer associations, and related stakeholders.

One of the problems of housing in urban areas is the high land price so that housing cannot be built on the site.

The Ministry of PKP then conducted a study on why this could not be implemented, because in fact the rules already exist but are not implemented, so the ministry looks at the price that can be financed by the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP).

The Ministry of PKP has made a concept of subsidized flats and currently in the process, of course, every policy must be discussed with all stakeholders who will later participate in the PKP minister's decision.
