Pertamina EP Records Oil Production of 27,643 Barrels per Day

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina EP (PEP) and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Zone 4 recorded oil production of 27,643 barrels per day (BOPD) throughout 2025.

This figure increased by 6.6 percent compared to the previous year.

General Manager of Pertamina EP Zone 4, Djudjuwanto explained, this production surge was driven by the massive addition of 3D Seismic data which was implemented with an aggressive and integrated field development strategy through the New Area Development (NAD) program, Step Out drilling, Interfield, and Infill, and strengthened collaboration of the subsurface team in drilling new wells and Workover & Well Intervention (WO&WI) activities.

"As oil production increases, the performance of PEP gas production in Zone 4 also shows positive results with a 530.9 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD)," said Djudjuwanto, Tuesday, January 13.

He explained that the achievement of oil and gas production came from the PEP and PHE Zone 4 operations in seven fields spread across two cities and nine regencies.

All oil and gas production is channeled to meet the needs of Pertamina's domestic refineries as part of support for national energy security.

"Zone 4 has consistently encouraged innovation and the application of technology to improve the reliability and efficiency of operations. One of the technologies applied is onshore batch drilling," he said.

Batch drilling is a drilling technique of several wells from the same location, where each operational phase is carried out in sequence.

Drilling Rig technology with a skidding or walking system allows the tower and equipment to be moved from one well to another without having to dismantle (rig down) the equipment.

The application of this technology has proven to be able to accelerate drilling time while increasing the efficiency of operating costs.

Djudjuwanto added that the positive performance of PEP and PHE Zone 4 in oil and gas production in 2025 was accompanied by the success of maintaining the performance of occupational safety without accidents (zero accident).

PEP and PHE Zone 4 ensure that every increase in production is carried out by prioritizing health, safety, security, and environmental principles (HSSE), in line with Pertamina's commitment to maintaining worker safety and environmental sustainability.

"Safety is a culture at Pertamina. Safety first. This year's achievement proves that the increase in oil and gas production can go hand in hand with a strong commitment to safety," concluded Djudjuwanto.
