Seven Trees Fall Due to Heavy Rain in East Jakarta
JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) through the Task Force (Satgas) of the City Forestry and Parks Service (Sudin Tamhut) evacuated seven trees that fell due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.
"In total, there were six trees that fell and one stump, all of which we have evacuated," said the Head of the Green Line and Cemetery Section of the East Jakarta Tamhut, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya, when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday.
The evacuation process, he said, was also assisted by the General Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officer (PPSU) at several different locations since Monday. Made said his party deployed 36 personnel to evacuate the fallen and damaged trees.
The six trees that fell were a bintaro tree with a diameter of 30 centimeters (cm) on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Kayu Putih Village, Pulo Gadung.
Then, two cherry trees with a diameter of 25 cm in Gang Galur, East Flood Canal (KBT), Pulo Gebang, and an avocado tree with a diameter of 50 cm in the area of the Public Cemetery (TPU) Kampung Dukuh, Dukuh Village.
Furthermore, a 80 cm diameter jackfruit tree on Jalan Bintara Jaya, Pondok Kopi, and a 25 cm diameter kranji sour tree on Jalan Raya Bogor, Rambutan Village.
Meanwhile, one tree that experienced a stump, namely a sengon tree with a diameter of 25 cm on Jalan Pulomas Timur 3A, Kayu Putih Village.
"For handling, we deployed 36 Green Task Force personnel. They were assisted by five to six PPSU (General Infrastructure and Facilities) officers from each village," explained Made.
Previously, the East Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that the condition of waterlogging and flooding in several areas of East Jakarta due to heavy rain on Monday (12/1) had receded.
"Update until 20.00 WIB yesterday, most of the puddles were dry. However, there are still several locations with quite high puddles," said Head of the Task Force Coordinator for the East Jakarta BPBD Region Ali Kojim when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday.
In addition, based on the report of the East Jakarta BPBD Picket Team, there were no fire incidents during the monitoring period.
Waterlogging and flooding were recorded at 15 points spread across several sub-districts in the East Jakarta area.
Ali detailed that in the Lubang Buaya Village area, Cipayung District, puddles had occurred on Pelita Street and Masjid Albariyah Street with a height of 20 centimeters (cm) on Monday (12/1) morning. However, the puddles in both locations have receded and been declared dry during the day.
Meanwhile, in Cakung District, flooding on Kramayuda Street, Petukangan Village, Rawa Terate, reached a maximum height of 50 cm during the day and evening before finally receding and drying at 17.00 WIB.
Significant flooding also occurred in Kramat Jati District, especially in Cawang and Cililitan Villages.
Then, on Jalan Taman Harapan and Jalan Raya Kalibata Gang Haji Maliki, the water level reached 80 cm at 15.00 WIB before gradually receding and drying up at night.
Meanwhile, on Jalan Musholla Al-Hikmah and Jalan Seruni, Cililitan Village, the flood reached a height of 70 cm before receding completely.
The highest waterlogged area was recorded in the Kampung Melayu area, Jatinegara District, namely on Jalan Kebon Pala II, with a flood height of 100 cm or one meter at 15.00 to 16.00 WIB.
As of 20.00 WIB, the puddle at the location was still about 50 cm.
In addition, standing water is still monitored in Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara District, specifically on Jalan Baiduri Bulan, with a water height of 80 cm and about 30 cm left at night.
Furthermore, on Jalan Tanjung Lengkong, Gang Macan, the flood with a maximum water height of 85 cm gradually decreased to 25 cm at 20.00 WIB.
Ali ensured that the East Jakarta BPBD carried out monitoring and coordination with related agencies to ensure that the puddles immediately receded and minimized their impact on residents' activities.
