Couple Dies from Electric Shock as Flood Floods Their House in Cilincing Jakut

JAKARTA - A married couple named Hadi Warno (54) and Naning Juniarty (49) were found dead allegedly electrocuted during a flood that hit their house in Block R Gang 2, RT 04/08, Semper Barat Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta.

The victim was found by his son after returning from school. The victim's son was shocked when he saw his parents already floating in the water in his house.

Cilincing Police Chief AKP Bobi Subasri explained that the victim was found in the middle room area of his house already floating.

"The cause of death is suspected to be electrocution, because there is a peeled refrigerator cable," said AKP Bobi when confirmed, Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

Residents who came then evacuated the two bodies of the victims and took them to the Pelabuhan Hospital.

"No signs of violence were found on the victim's body. It is suspected that the death of the two victims was electrocuted," he said.

The suspicion was strengthened by the discovery of a refrigerator cable that peeled off during the flood. Currently, the case of the victim's death is still being handled by Mapolsek Cilincing.
