Sitaro Police Mako in North Sulawesi Affected by Flood to be Relocated

JAKARTA - North Sulawesi (Sulut) Police Chief Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie said the Kepulauan Sitaro Regency Police Headquarters would be relocated after being hit by flash floods on Monday, January 5, early morning.

"The police station will be relocated to a better place," said the Police Chief when visiting Sitaro Islands Regency, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

The plan to relocate the Mako Police to a safer place, said the Police Chief, was a direct order from the National Police Chief through Astama Rena.

"The conclusion is that the Mako Kepulauan Sitaro Police must be relocated because it is very risky. If it is still there, the risk is very high," he said.

In addition to visiting the Sitaro Islands Police Headquarters, the North Sulawesi Police Chief also symbolically handed over assistance to the community affected by the flash flood disaster at the Sitaro Islands Regency Library Building.

"We TNI, Polri and local governments are also concerned and deeply saddened for our brothers and sisters who have preceded us, who have been affected by the natural disaster that occurred in Sitaro," said Police Chief Inspector General Roycke.

He also appreciated the collaboration of all elements involved in handling flash floods in Sitaro Islands Regency.

"I have to give an assessment that the forkopimda here with the community is very compact and we must maintain it. Basically the state must be present in every difficulty of the community. And today we are bringing help to the community," continued the Police Chief.
