Claiming That He Can Whisper Invisibility, This Man Stabbed The Congregation Who Was Praying At Dawn
JAKARTA - Suspect GN (25), the perpetrator of the stabbing of a member of the Darul Islam Mosque, Pasar Baru Village, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, surrendered to the authorities after being a fugitive from the police.
"The perpetrators were handed over by the family to the East Baturaja Police last night," said East Baturaja Police Chief AKP Sulis Pujiono in Baturaja, as reported by Antara, Saturday, May 29.
This stabbing incident was experienced by the victim Rusman (45), a resident of Lorong Patrajaya, Pasar Baru Village, East Baturaja District during the Fajr prayer in congregation at the Darul Islam Mosque on Thursday, May 27.
In front of investigators, the perpetrator, who is a neighbor of the victim, admitted that the brutal act was caused by a supernatural whisper.
In his action, GN carried a spoon that had been made of a knife from his house to the mosque, he even had time to pray right next to the victim.
Without further ado, during the first rak'ah of congregational prayers, the perpetrator stabbed the victim using a sharp object until he lay covered in blood, then the person concerned fled.
As a result of the incident, the victim suffered three stab wounds to the back and front chest and had to be taken to the nearest hospital.
"Alhamdulillah, now the victim's condition has improved. There are only minor injuries to the ribs and they are currently being treated in hospital," said the police chief.
From the results of the temporary investigation, he said, the perpetrator admitted that he had stabbed the victim during the Fajr prayer in congregation.
"We are still investigating the perpetrators, including mental disorders," he said.
According to the Imam of the Darul Islam Suaji Mosque, the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator has so far not been a problem.
“Before the stabbing, the perpetrator shook hands with the victim when he entered the mosque. In fact, when praying, the two are close together in the first row," he said
