Polda Metro Jaya arrests two online drug dealers in West Jakarta

Two dealers of methamphetamine and cartridge (electronic cigarettes) containing etomidate were arrested by the Metro Jaya Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate in the West Jakarta (Jakbar) area.

"The two suspects, with initials AP (25) male and DA (26) female, were secured by Unit 1 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday at around 01.30 WIB in the Tanjung Duren area, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta," said Kompol Bagin Efrata, Head of Subdit 1 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya in his statement, Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

During the arrest, officers found 4.35 grams of methamphetamine and 81 vape cartridges containing etomidate.

"Both of them were sending 4.35 grams of methamphetamine and 81 vape cartridges containing etomidate, with the delivery method being disguised as narcotics in a package through online delivery services," said Bagin.

In addition to the crystal meth, the police also seized 81 cartridges from various brands, and other items.

"A number of evidence was also secured, such as digital scales, empty plastic clips, and two mobile phones," said Bagin.

Furthermore, the two suspects have been taken to the Ditresnarkoba office of the Metro Jaya Police to undergo further examination and investigation.

For information, etomidate is included in the category of narcotics in the Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) RI Number 15 of 2025, namely the type of narcotic of class II.

Etomidate is a class of drugs that contain addictive substances and can make users feel like losing consciousness.

If etomidate is inhaled into the lungs through vaping (which is abused), it can cause failure of vital organ functions as well as cause confusion, tremor, and loss of balance.
