Prabowo's story raises Pertamina's CEO and asks Bobrok to be in Pertamina's body
"I picked up Brother Simon Aloysius with some young people and I gave them the task of not being corrupt," said Prabowo, Monday, January 12.
Prabowo added that Pertamina was the only Indonesian company to enter the fortune 500 with assets worth 100 billion US dollars so that it should be able to provide the best for Indonesia.
Prabowo admitted that in recent years, the public has also realized that there have been unhealthy games at Pertamina.
"There are parties. I don't understand, smart but greedy Indonesian people arrange to import from abroad. With imports from abroad he manipulates prices and he quotes. So there are a handful of people who are rich on the suffering of the people," he explained.
For this reason, he continued, when he was inaugurated as president, he then decided to carry out a 'cleaning' in the Pertamina body.
He also added that the position of chief executive officer in a company worth hundreds of billions of dollars is a strategic position.
"There will be a lot of temptations. But you (Simon) must be firm with all your ranks and I give you the widest possible authority. Whoever you think is not good, fire!. Don't hesitate. For the sake of the nation and the people, you must be ruthless," he explained.
For information, Simon Aloysius Mantiri was appointed as the main director of Pertamina to replace Nicke Widyawati in November 2024.
Previously, Simon served as the President Commissioner (Komut) of Pertamina, replacing Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok.
Ahok himself resigned from his position as Komut Pertamina since February 2 because he supported one of the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates with the number three in the 2024 presidential election.
Simon is a politician from the Gerindra Party, and one of Prabowo's trusted people.
In the party's structure, he serves as the Central Leadership Council (DPP).
Simon is known to play an important role in Prabowo and Gibran's victory in the 2024 General Election.
Before entering politics, Simon served as Personal Assistant Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at PT Nusantara Energy Indonesia (NEI).
