Bogor Holds Cap Go Meh 2026 to coincide with Ramadan, as a symbol of tolerance

BOGOR - The Bogor Street Festival (BSF) Cap Go Meh (CGM) will be held again in 2026. The event is scheduled for March 3 to coincide with Ramadan.

Chairman of the BSF CGM 2026 Committee, Arifin Himawan, said that this condition has never happened before, so it is a very special moment because it is held in the same month.

"We see this as a good moment, where tolerance and harmony are built in one CGM and Ramadan 2026 event in Bogor City," he said, Monday, January 12.

Therefore, in its preparation, the committee made various adjustments, especially on the route that will be passed during the cultural parade so that the distance is closer.

Arifin explained that in previous years the route of the parade was carried out until Jalan Siliwangi. However, for this year the route is limited to Gang Aut and the procession will return to the starting point through Jalan Roda.

"In the series leading up to the Bogor Street Festival, there will be an UMKM bazaar for three days on Jalan Suryakencana which starts from March 1 to 3, 2026," he said.

The opening of the bazaar is planned to be started with a joint fasting activity for 400 orphans from six sub-districts in Bogor City.

"So, on the same day, the Ramadan UMKM bazaar will begin in the afternoon and be filled with various Ramadan-themed activities and cultural arts," he said.

So as not to interfere with worship in the month of Ramadan, especially the implementation of tarawih prayers, the cultural parade will be held afterwards.

Ahead of the implementation of the Bogor Street Festival, the committee is currently calculating the needs for tents along about 100 meters that will be used for the UMKM bazaar.

"The MSME perpetrators will be selected first with a minimum of 150 MSMEs," he said.
