Prabowo Singgung Mark Up: Itu Mencuri di Siang Bolong
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto called the practice of "mark up" as a form of daylight theft that harms the country and the people.
"We are ashamed of other nations, and especially ashamed of our people. Mark up practices, fraud. Mark up is fraud and theft, stealing in broad daylight," said Prabowo at the inauguration of the Balikpapan Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP), East Kalimantan, Monday, January 12, reported by ANTARA.
The President expressed concern about the practice of "mark up" and fraud that still occurs.
According to him, technological developments make this practice easier to uncover, so that efforts to maintain old patterns are considered wrong and worrying.
"If there are officials who want to carry out old practices, I think it is very wrong, we are concerned. I don't know how many Pertamina directors have been in prison, I don't know," said the President.
Prabowo emphasized that the country needs the best management that is able to manage companies professionally and responsibly.
"Because the State and the nation need and demand the best management, manage it well," said the Head of State.
President Prabowo inaugurated the Pertamina Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) at the Balikpapan Refinery Unit (RU) V, East Kalimantan, Monday, which is the largest oil refinery in Indonesia.
"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim today Monday, January 12, 2026. I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the Pertamina RDMP Balikpapan Integrated Energy Infrastructure," said Prabowo when inaugurating the RDMP Balikpapan, which was monitored online via the President's Secretariat on YouTube in Jakarta, Monday.
Prabowo said the last RDMP inauguration was held in 1994 or 32 years ago. He welcomed the inauguration with happiness, because it is hoped that it can reduce dependence on imported fuel oil (BBM).
The President said Indonesia was blessed with abundant natural wealth, including energy sources such as palm oil for biodiesel, geothermal, solar energy, and hydropower.
Therefore, these sources must be managed to the maximum so that they are no longer dependent on other countries.
"We must not depend on our energy from outside. We want to be independent and we are able. We have everything, given the gift by the Almighty," said the President.
