Honor Magic 8 RSR Specifications Leaked Ahead of January 19 Launch

JAKARTA - Honor is confirmed to hold an event on January 19, 2026 to introduce the Honor Magic 8 Pro, a compact-sized flagship phone. Ahead of the event, Honor also confirmed that another model, the Honor Magic 8 RSR, will be introduced at the same time. This device is said to come as an upgraded version of the Magic 8 Pro.

The official image released by Honor shows the Magic 8 RSR in two colors, purple and black. Both variants carry a squircle-shaped camera module, different from the hexagonal design used in the previous generation. Although Honor has not officially revealed the technical specifications, a leak from a Chinese technology blogger on Weibo has revealed almost all of the details of this device.

Based on information circulating, the Honor Magic 8 RSR will be equipped with a 6.71-inch 1,5K resolution and quad-curved design. In terms of performance, this phone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset combined with a large 7,200 mAh battery. For charging, this device is said to support 120W wired fast charging as well as 80W wireless charging.

Honor Magic 8 RSR is also rumored to come with a high-end memory configuration, namely 24 GB RAM and 1 TB internal storage. The operating system uses MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. On the front, this phone will be equipped with a 50 megapixel selfie camera.

Meanwhile, the rear camera sector is rumored to carry three main cameras, each main camera is 50 megapixels with optical image stabilization (OIS) support, a 50 megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 200 megapixel telephoto periscope camera with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS.

Other support features that are said to be present include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor inside the screen, 3D face scanning, a special camera button, and satellite connectivity support. In terms of durability, the Honor Magic 8 RSR is rumored to have IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for protection against dust, water, and high pressure.

With these leaked specifications, the Honor Magic 8 RSR is projected to be one of the most powerful flagships to be introduced in early 2026, with a focus on high performance, large batteries, and high-end photography capabilities. All official details will be confirmed at the launch on January 19.
