PDIP National Council Recommendation Refers to the TNI Meritocratic System

JAKARTA - The PDI-P touched on the importance of the meritocracy system in the internal governance of the Indonesian National Army (TNI). This party with the bull symbol urges the government to implement the system.

This is one of the points of the external recommendations of the I PDIP National Working Meeting (Rakernas), which was held at the Beach City International Stadium, Ancol, Jakarta, Monday, January 12.

"In terms of internal governance, the first National Congress encourages the government to strengthen the organization's mechanisms based on meritocracy, seniority, and measurable career levels to maintain the solidity of the TNI, as well as maintain single loyalty to the Constitution," said Chairman of the DPD PDIP Aceh Jamaluddin Idham.

PDIP again reminded the function of the TNI after the reform by staying away from practical politics. In addition, it also urges the government to continue to develop defense forces based on the principle of independence (self-reliance), prioritizing domestic industries, and based on real threat studies without being dictated by the global market.

In addition, PDIP asked the government to pay attention to the welfare of soldiers. "To ensure the improvement of the welfare of soldiers through appropriate allowances and operational facilities, commensurate with the risks of their service in the field of duty," he said.

As previously reported, PDIP carried the theme 'Satyam Eva Jayate' with the sub-theme 'There I Stand, For Eternity' in the National Congress which was held from Saturday to Monday, January 10-12.

Meanwhile, Satyam Eva Jayate is a Sanskrit slogan which means "Truth will win".

The sub-theme "Di Sanalah Aku Berdiri untuk Selama-lamanya" was taken by quoting the Indonesian Raya song.

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party's National Congress was attended by PDIP managers at the central and regional levels, represented by the chairman, secretary, and treasurer.

"This national congress will discuss political attitudes, including the party's answers to various geopolitical issues, ecological crises, corruption, economic issues, law enforcement, to the party's internal programs and the party's responsibility to the people," he said in a press statement, Friday, January 9.
