Beat “Avatar 3” in Malaysia, Papa Zola Film Gaet Local Animator
JAKARTA - The film Papa Zola The Movie: Game On managed to beat the achievements of the film Avatar: Fire and Ash when it was shown in Malaysian cinemas. As one of the well-known animated figures, this film also expands its reach by being shown in Indonesian cinemas.
"We screened this film a week earlier than Avatar. Then, only Avatar was shown. We didn't expect this film to last 30 days in the first place, even beating Hollywood's big films," said Nizam Abd. Razak as the director in Central Jakarta on Saturday, January 10.
"This is Papa Zola's first film, so we are very grateful to the audience. Currently it has reached 3.5 million viewers in Malaysia. I hope millions of people will also watch it in Indonesia. Amin," he said.
The film also enlisted local animators to work on some parts of its story. Although it did not explain specifically, this is not the first collaboration.
"Yes, for Papa Zola we have a studio in Indonesia that helps us. The same is true for BoBoiBoy. Collaboration with animation studios in Indonesia has actually been going on for a long time, not only for feature films, but also for our series," he explained again.
The film Papa Zola The Movie: Game On tells the story of Papa Zola who lives the needs of his family every day. Until one day, his old friend reminds Papa Zola about his life and career in the past.
Papa Zola The Movie: Game On will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting January 23.
