BNI Supports Danantara to Hand Over 600 Post-disaster Worthy Housing in Aceh Tamiang

JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI participated in the handover of the first phase of 600 Danantara Housing (huntara) in Aceh Tamiang Regency. This handover is part of the acceleration of post-disaster handling coordinated by the Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency (BPI) together with SOEs, to provide decent housing for affected communities.

The Danantara Housing Program is aimed at meeting the government's target of providing 15,000 housing units for disaster victims in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. This initiative is a manifestation of the state's presence in post-disaster recovery through safe, decent, and dignified housing.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that BNI took an active role in the development of huntara in Aceh Tamiang.

"BNI also contributes to the development of Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang. Of the total 600 units of the first phase of huntara, BNI participated in about 20 percent or 120 units of housing, as part of the synergy of SOEs under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia," Okki said in a written statement, Monday, January 12.

The handover of the huntara was also attended by Managing Director of Stakeholder Management Danantara Indonesia Rohan Hafas to mark the readiness of the residence to be immediately occupied by residents who lost their homes due to disasters. There were also representatives of the participating SOEs, including the Area Head of BNI Aceh and its surroundings.

Previously, the readiness of the Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang had been reviewed directly by Prabowo Subianto together with the Danantara Indonesia leadership, including Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, COO Danantara Dony Oskaria, and Managing Director of Stakeholder Management Rohan Hafas, on Thursday, January 1. The review was also attended by the relevant SOEs, including BNI Information Technology Director Toto Prasetio.

The Danantara residence is equipped with supporting facilities such as playgrounds, WiFi networks, prayer rooms, public facilities, and adequate sanitation facilities to support the basic needs and comfort of residents. The development is carried out through a collaboration between BUMN works with the coordination of PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the coordinator, located on Jalan Banda Aceh-Medan, Kebun Tanjung Seumantoh, Karang Baru District, Aceh Tamiang.

Going forward, BNI reiterates its commitment to continue to provide assistance during the stages of post-disaster development and recovery, to ensure that rehabilitation is integrated, sustainable, and has a real impact on affected communities.
