Google Maps Updates the Settings Menu Display on Android Devices
Google has launched an update for its navigation app on Android. Now, the settings in Google Maps look simpler and tidier than the previous version.
This update is deliberately presented to change the old settings interface which is considered messy. Many users also often complain about the appearance of this setting because it is difficult for them to navigate quickly.
In the latest settings view, Google Maps summarizes all user needs into seven menu categories accompanied by icons. Each category also includes the following settings, launching from 9to5google.
Apps and Display: Unifying the theme menu, map controls, and accessibility features. Navigation: Unifying the driving, walking, and public transportation menus. Your Vehicle: Unifying the engine type and connected vehicle menus. Location and Privacy: Unifying the timeline, map history, and profile menus. Offline Maps: Unifying the download and update options menus. Notifications: Unifying the reminder and recommendation menus.Even though the contents of some menus haven't changed much, grouping on the main page provides easier configuration capabilities. Users no longer need to scroll too long to find active or inactive buttons.
This interface update is starting to be released in Google Maps version 25.49 for Android devices. Although released through a server update, this launch is still being carried out gradually and is not yet available evenly.
iOS users will also see similar changes. However, it is not known when the Google Maps interface for iOS will get a simpler look.
