Elisha Danielle remembers her teenage years through the single Freeze

JAKARTA - Singer-songwriter born in Singapore, Elisha Danielle, is back to enliven the Indonesian music industry by releasing her latest single titled "Freeze".

This latest work is a personal narrative for Elisha - about distance, longing, and warmth when reconnecting with a place he loves.

Inspired by his teenage years while living in Perth, Australia, Elisha tried to summarize memories of the city into an emotional composition.

For him, Perth is not just a coordinate point, but a home for friendships that shape his character to this day.

"Every time I leave Perth, it feels like pressing the pause button on something I don't want to let go of," Elisha said of the anxiety that underlies the song, Monday, January 12.

According to him, every time he comes back, everything feels right again: his people, his energy, and his connections. Everything feels easy and familiar, like continuing a conversation that had been interrupted in the middle of a sentence.

Similar to the debut single "Pretty Easy", the creative process of 'Freeze' took place in a songwriting session in Ubud, Bali.

In this project, Elisha again collaborated with Petra Sihombing who acted as a producer and accompanying composer.

Musically, this single shows an interesting shift in Elisha's style. If his debut single is thick with synth-pop elements, "Freeze" instead appears more organic with the dominance of guitar riffs and ambient sound layers.

This arrangement was deliberately chosen to create a reflective atmosphere but still instill a sense of optimism.

Elisha emphasized that the main message in this song is about looking at distance from a positive perspective. He argues that distance does not always have to feel sad.

"Sometimes the time apart actually strengthens the relationship. Give space to grow, so that when you come back, everything feels deeper and more meaningful," he said.

To complement the release, a cinematic music video has also been launched. The clip features a mini garden set built using native plants to reinforce the nostalgic theme.

The process of shooting this music video was recognized by Elisha as quite challenging and memorable, because it took up to 18 hours to get the desired natural lighting.

With two singles in her portfolio, Elisha Danielle has demonstrated her musical identity: soft but confident, introspective but expressive.

"Freeze" asserts its position as one of the young singer-songwriters who are able to combine emotional sensitivity with cinematic visual depth.
