Owen Cooper, This Year's Youngest Golden Globe Winner

JAKARTA - Actor Owen Cooper has again received an award for his acting in the series Adolescence. The acting brought him his first victory at the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in Television.

With the victory, Owen Cooper officially became the youngest winner in the category. He won the category at the age of 12.

Previously, the youngest winner in the category was obtained by actor Chris Colfer who received the award at the age of 20 for the series Glee.

In addition, Owen Cooper became the youngest Golden Globe winner of all time. The first actor to receive the award was actor Ricky Schroder at the age of 9.

When accepting the award, Cooper spoke about how the experience of the past year had changed his family.

"Standing here at the Golden Globe feels unreal. A journey that me and my family have been on. We are forever grateful for what people have done for me and my family," said Owen Cooper.

Owen Cooper became the youngest winner at the Emmy Awards thanks to his role as Jamie Miller in the series Adolescence.

Cooper is competing against a slate of nominees dominated by senior actors Ashley Walters, Billy Crudup, Jason Isaacs, Tramell Tillman and Walton Goggins.

The series Adolescence received five award nominations including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Series, Best Actress, and Best Limited Series.
