Kia EV2 with 448 Km Travel Distance Officially Debuts Globally at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show

JAKARTA - Kia Corporation officially introduced the Kia EV2 at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show which is currently taking place. As the sixth pure electric model from Kia, EV2 comes as a compact B-segment SUV designed to be the main entry point for consumers who want modern electric mobility, but still affordable and practical for urban lifestyles.

Despite having a compact dimension, the Kia EV2 carries an interior concept called "Picnic Box". This design offers a very spacious cabin space, surpassing the standard of vehicles in its class. With the feature of the rear seats that can be shifted and folded, passengers get maximum comfort, plus a flexible trunk space of up to 403 liters and a functional front trunk (frunk).

In terms of performance, Kia equips the EV2 with two battery options, namely 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh. The highest variant can travel up to 448 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Not only that, its fast charging technology is very impressive, where charging from 10 to 80 percent only takes about 30 minutes.

Advanced technology is also embedded to pamper drivers, ranging from a 12.3-inch panoramic wide display, Kia AI Assistant, to cutting-edge safety features such as Remote Smart Parking Assist. This car also supports V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) features that allow the car's battery to be used as an electrical source for external electronic devices while camping or outdoor activities.

In addition to the standard variant, Kia also showcased the EV2 GT Line for consumers who want a more sporty and adventurous look. This momentum is also used by Kia to expand their high-performance lineup by introducing the GT variant for other models, such as the EV3 GT, EV4 Hatchback GT, and EV5 GT, which are scheduled to enter production in the second half of 2026.

On its official website, it is said that the mass production of the Kia EV2 itself will begin in the first quarter of 2026, starting with the standard-range model.
