Four Roads in West Jakarta Flooded Due to Heavy Rain

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said that as many as six neighborhood units (RT) and four roads in North Jakarta and South Jakarta were flooded due to high rainfall.

"Heavy rain that hit DKI Jakarta and its surroundings caused flooding in several areas," said Head of the Data and Information Center for Disasters of the DKI Jakarta Provincial BPBD, Mohamad Yohan, in Jakarta, Monday.

According to him, as of 09.00 WIB, there were six RTs and four roads in North Jakarta and South Jakarta that were affected by flooding.

The height of the water that submerged the area, he said, ranged from 20 centimeters (cm) to almost one meter or 95 cm, especially in three RTs located in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the height of the water that submerged four roads ranged from 10-20 cm.

"We from the DKI Jakarta BPBD have deployed personnel to monitor the condition of the puddles in each area and coordinate the Water Resources Office (SDA), the Road Construction Office, the Fire and Rescue Office to carry out the draining of the puddles," said Yohan.

In addition, officers also ensure that the water ropes function properly, along with the local lurah and camat and prepare basic necessities for survivors. The puddles are targeted to recede in a short time.

The following are six RTs and four streets that were flooded;

South Jakarta, 4 RT, namely:

Duren Tiga Village: 1 RT Water level: 40 cm Cause: Heavy rainfall

Pasar Minggu Village: 3 RT Water level: 40-95 cm Cause: High rainfall and overflow of Krukut River

North Jakarta, 2 RT, namely:

Tanjung Priok Village: 2 RT Water level: 20 cm Cause: Heavy rainfall

The four roads that were damaged, namely:

1. Jalan Anggrek, Kelurahan Rawa Badak Utara2. Jalan Walang Baru VII A, Kelurahan Tugu Utara3. Jalan Rorotan 10, tepatnya di depan Masjid Tanwirul Ikhsan, Kelurahan Rorotan4. Jalan Taman Stasiun, Kelurahan Tanjung Priok.
