Four Roads in North Jakarta are Under Water, Traffic Jam

JAKARTA - A total of 2 RT in the Tanjung Priok Village area, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta was flooded with a height of 20cm due to high rainfall in North Jakarta and its surroundings on Monday, January 12, 2026.

The flood waters have begun to submerge the area since Monday morning.

The flood was allegedly caused by the drainage at the location not flowing well so that there was a puddle during heavy rain.

"True, there are two RT in Tanjung Priok that are submerged in flood with a height of 20cm. Currently, it is still being handled by officers," said the Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD, Yohan, when confirmed by VOI.

In addition to 2 RT in the residential area that was flooded, puddles from heavy rain also occurred on 4 other roads in the North Jakarta area.

"There are also roads that are affected by flooding, namely Jalan Anggrek Kelurahan Rawa Badak Utara, Jalan Walang Baru VII A Kelurahan Tugu Utara, Jalan Rorotan 10 Kelurahan Rorotan Depan Masjid Tanwirul Ikhsan and Jalan Taman Stasiun Kelurahan Tanjung Priok," he said.

The report of the puddle point entered the BPBD DKI Jakarta data system until Monday, January 12 at 09.00 WIB.

"BPBD DKI Jakarta deployed personnel to monitor the condition of the puddles in each area and coordinate the elements of the Water Resources Agency, the Road Construction Agency, the Gulkarmat Agency to carry out the suction of puddles and ensure that the water ropes are functioning," he said.

BPBD DKI appeals to the public to remain vigilant and alert to the potential for flooding.

Meanwhile, due to the puddles on the 4 roads, a number of motorcyclists were forced to turn around to avoid flooding. Meanwhile, traffic flow around the area was experiencing long traffic jams.
