Ahmad Dhani: Hopefully Abdee Slank Can Fight For The Fate Of Musicians Who Are Getting Worse

JAKARTA - Abdi Negara Nurdin or known as Abdee Slank was appointed as Independent Commissioner of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or Telkom by the Minister of BUMN, Erick Tohir. This also received comments from fellow musicians, Ahmad Dhani.

Dhani said the decision to make Abdee a commissioner was the right thing. The frontman of the Dewa music group also considered that the Slank guitarist was competent.

"Abdi SLANK is a good person, honest and simple. President Jokowi's trust in musicians should be appreciated," said Dhani in his official statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, May 29.

Dhani said that it is rare for musicians to be given the opportunity to sit in government seats. He said that only President Soekarno made a painting artist as the Governor of DKI, namely Heng Nuntung.

"Since then, almost no artist has been entrusted with being a bureaucrat by an Indonesian president," said Dhani.

"Hope all musicians, hopefully Abdee Slank can fight for the fate of musicians who are getting worse," he added.
