2.5 Kg Ketamine Disclosure in Asahan, Police Chase Main Actor
MEDAN - The North Sumatra Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate is investigating a network of 2.5 kilograms of illegal ketamine in the local jurisdiction.
"We emphasize that the investigation will continue to be developed to uncover the network on it," said North Sumatra Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Director Kombes Andy Arisandi when contacted in Medan, Antara, Sunday, January 11.
Andy said that the development of the network investigation was part of the commitment of the North Sumatra Regional Police in protecting the community from the threat of drug abuse and harmful substances.
The development of the network investigation began with the arrest of two men suspected of being involved in the network of distribution of the substance keytamine, namely initials AAM (43) and MAN (23) in Sipaku Village, Simpang Empat District, Asahan Regency, Wednesday, December 31.
"Both were arrested by personnel while riding separate motorbikes which matched the characteristics of the results of the monitoring of officers in the area," he said.
Andy said that from the results of the search, three green plastic bags were found which were suspected to contain keytamine with a weight of about 2.5 kilograms.
In addition, the police also secured two mobile phones, two motorbikes, and one sack of twine.

Andy said AAM admitted to obtaining the keytamine from a man with the initials NAIM who is currently under investigation.
"This disclosure shows our seriousness in taking firm action against the illegal circulation of harmful substances that can threaten the health and safety of the community," he said.
He added that the two perpetrators and all the evidence had now been secured at the North Sumatra Regional Police Narcotics Division to undergo further investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
