PGI Will Write To Jokowi, Asking To Save KPK Employees Not Passing TWK: This Is Weakening With The Label Of Intolerance
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI) Gomar Gultom admitted that his party will write to President Joko Widodo regarding the polemic of 75 KPK employees who did not pass the national insight test (TWK).
This was conveyed after PGI held a meeting with 9 KPK employees representing 75 employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK).
"PGI will write to the President to immediately take action to save this anti-corruption agency from these weakening efforts, by rescuing the 75 KPK employees," Gomar said in a statement, Saturday, May 29.
Gultom was surprised that President Joko Widodo had issued a statement asking that TWK not be used as a basis for dismissing KPK employees. However, it turns out that there are 51 KPK employees who do not pass the TWK and will be dismissed.
"Who exactly is the president?" he said surprised.
Gultom viewed that the failure of dozens of KPK employees because they did not pass the TWK was an attempt to weaken them by labeling them as intolerant and radical.
"We are very concerned about the efforts to weaken the KPK that have occurred so far, especially those that culminated with the labeling of intolerance and radicalism of 75 KPK employees through the TWK mechanism recently," he said.
What made Gultom even more worried, many of the KPK employees who were declared not to have passed the TWK were people who were currently or have handled major corruption cases.
"With the removal of those who have performed well and have strong integrity on the grounds of not having passed the TWK, it is feared that investigators will rethink their duties professionally in accordance with the KPK code of ethics in the future, because they are afraid that they will be TWKed with radical label," he explained.
It was previously reported that 51 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) did not pass the national insight test (TWK) and would be dismissed.
Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said the assessment of the 51 employees was red and impossible to foster.
"The 51 people came back again from the assessor. He said this color was red and yes, it was not possible for coaching to be carried out," Alexander said in a press conference, Tuesday, May 25.
However, Alexander did not explain in more detail about the assessment benchmarks and the reasons why the KPK employees could not be trained.
Meanwhile, Head of BKN Bima Haria Wibisana explained three aspects related to the TWK assessment. The three aspects are the personal aspect, influence, and PUPN (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and the legitimate government).
"For the PUPN aspect, the price is fixed. So no adjustments can be made, from that aspect," said Bima.
